Wiltshire & Swindon Care Skills Partnership

We are an employer led organisation who supports the Independent, Voluntary & Private – IVP Adult care workforce in Wiltshire & Swindon. We are financially supported by Wiltshire Council, Swindon Borough Council and Skills for Care.

Would you like a career in Adult Social Care? We give advice and support to anyone who would like a career in Adult Social Care regarding Traineeships and Apprenticeships (an apprenticeship can be undertaken at any age).

We also provide advice and support to the Wilts & Swindon IVP Sector on Adult Training courses with regard to grants and funding which may be available for staff training.: There are currently 2 streams of funding available through the WSCSP:

Contributory Grant  - A new system is in place

This grant is funded by WC and SBC and given to the WSCSP to be distributed between the workforce and there is a limit to how much any employer can claim; it can be claimed by any CQC regulated Adult Care Employer in Wiltshire & Swindon who requires specific or specialist training for their staff;  the training cannot fall under the following categories:

Any training which falls under “Health & Safety” i.e. Fire, Risk Assessment, Moving & Handling, etc.

  •  It cannot fund any QCF/NVQ as this can be claimed under the WDF below

Workforce Development Fund - WDF 2017/18

The WSCSP have been successful in securing funds to support staff training, through the Skills for Care Workforce Development Fund (WDF) for 2017/18. This means if you are a Wiltshire or Swindon employer and have employees who have completed and/or are completing QCF qualifications (paid or received free of charge) then funding could be claimed to support your future training budget.

The fund can support a range of QCF qualifications covering:

Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care

  •         Level 5 Diploma in Leadership of Health & Social Care
